Concrete Patch

Preparation

1. Proper surface preparation will ensure a good, long lasting repair.
2. If the corner or edge to be patched is smooth, roughen the surface with a screwdriver or chisel, prior to cleaning, for a good bonding surface.
3. Clean and dampen the concrete surface for good adhesion.
4. Remove all oil, grease and dirt by scrubbing with a stiff brush, water and detergent.

Mixing

1. Thoroughly mix about 5 parts Concrete Patch with 1 part potable water.
2. The mixture will appear “dry” at first but will become more plastic as you continue to mix.
3. Concrete Patch requires less water than normal concrete mixes.

For Surface Patching

1. Concrete Patch should be the consistency of a heavy batter (not soupy), and it should be trowelable.
2. Adjustments can be made by adding water or material as required.
3. Place the mixture on the existing concrete surface and trowel in the material to properly patch the area.
4. The material will set in about 30 minutes.
5. Then dampen the surface and finish with a trowel.

For Forming New Edges or Corners

1. The shaping of new edges or corners may be done by hand if you are wearing gloves.
2. Work the material into the cold concrete.
3. Shape and finish with a trowel.
4. Added strength (proper curing) can be achieved by keeping the patched surface damp for 2 hours.
