PORTLAND AND MASONRY CEMENTS
USES
Used in applications exposed to the elements or in foundations, walls and hollow or solid piers.
Each 73lb (33kg) of Masonry Cement mixed with 3cuft of sand will produce 3cuft mortar.
Avoid working in extreme weather conditions. Have materials required on hand: clean water, sand (2 ¼ -3cuft loose damp Masonry Sand), watertight mechanical mixer, measuring pots, trowel, mortar board, etc.
Mix ½ water and ½ sand required to 1 bag Masonry Cement Type S followed by the remaining amount of sand and enough water to bring mix to desired consistency. Mortar should be mixed for at least 5 minutes once all ingredients are in the mixer. Each batch should be the same consistency.
When mixed with sand, Masonry Cement Type S produces mortar that exceeds ASTM C-270 specifications for mortar which requires a minimum average 28-day compressive strength of 1800psi and 75% minimum water retention.
Wear tight-fitting goggles, protective respiratory masks, gloves and protective clothing. This product, dry or wet, can cause irritation and severe burns. In case of eye contact, flush with plenty of water and seek medical attention. Repeated inhalation can cause lung disease.

KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS.
Clean up with soap and water.
Rinse tools before material hardens.
