After concrete is placed, between 10°C and 24°C (50°F and 75°F) adequate curing is vital. Freshly mixed concrete contains more water than required for complete hydration of the cement. Good curing of the cement means that evaporation should be prevented or reduced. Sprinkle surface with water fog or cover surface with moisture retaining fabrics such as burlap or cotton mats or even plastic spraying compound. The longer the concrete is kept moist, the stronger and more durable it will become.
