Stone Bond

Stone Bond is designed for the installation of manufactured and natural stone veneers.

SUGGESTED USES
Stone Bond can be used to adhere stone vertically and horizontally, as a scratch coat, and as a mortar joint grout.

One 66lb (30kg) bag will cover approximately 13 sqft (1.2 sq.m.) at ½” (13mm) thickness. Coverage will vary with joint width and depth.

Mixing
  1. Add approximately 4 litres of water into a mixer for each 30kg (66lb) bag.
  2. Mix Stone Bond thoroughly.
  3. Adjust water as needed.

Note: Use only clean potable water.

Stone Installation

Consult stone/veneer manufacturer for proper substance preparation and installation.

  1. Dampen properly prepared substrate for good stone adhesion.
  2. Apply ½ – ¾ inch (13-19mm) or mortar to the back of each veneer. 100% coverage is required on the back
  3. Press coated veneer firmly on substrate until mortar squeezes out around all edges of the veneer.
  4. Hold in place for 10 seconds. Ensure 100% contact between substrate and back of veneer.

Note: Not recommended for use where stone is very smooth or has a polished back.

Finishing Joints
  1. Use a grout bag to fill in joints.
  2. Finish joints, when thumb-print dry, with a metal or brush tool and dry brush any accidental smears.
